VetsEZ is seeking a full-time remote Systems Administrator to be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security of intranets and computer systems. Including installing antivirus or malware protection software, responding to employee concerns, or drafting documents to help employees use computer systems and coordinating with company leadership to determine new technologies that could enhance computer systems.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Job Description
- Conducting routine system administration tasks and logging data in system admin logs.
- Maintaining system efficiency.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting a wide variety of systems and networks to include high volume/high availability systems
- Provide Server, network and desktop support
- Must have knowledge on a number of debugging protocols and processes. Must be able to troubleshoot problems and issues identified by customers and implement corrective actions quickly.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
- 6+ years of experience.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux (RHEL 8.x) and Windows systems.
- Familiarity with virtual environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and VMWare.
- Experience administering DNS/DHCP and Load Balancing technologies within an enterprise-environment.
- Experience with webservers and products, such as Tomcat, Apache and SSL.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance.
- Experience in Data Integration Modernizations and Secure Messaging is a plus.
- Team-oriented contributor with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Background in federal government IT support and in particular, with the Department of Veterans Affairs is a plus.
