VetsEZ is seeking a hybrid Database Administrator to support a Department of Veterans Affairs project in Charleston, SC, or Chelmsford, MA. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and manage database systems while optimizing performance and ensuring data integrity.
The candidate must reside within the continental US.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and optimize database performance, ensuring 99.9% availability.
Monitor logs, database growth, audit reports, and backup/recovery processes.
Build schemas, tables, stored procedures, and manage permissions.
Support and implement SQL Server Analysis, CCI technology, and database utilities.
Develop queries, reports, and data cubes using SQL Server tools (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, SSMA).
Participate in technical working groups to diagnose issues and propose enhancements.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server and DBMS.
5+ years of experience implementing and monitoring database architectures.
3+ years of experience in database design and system integration.
Strong knowledge of database security and cloud-hosted database systems.
Ability to work effectively with senior government officials.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with VA or healthcare-related IT projects.
Knowledge of SDLC processes, including requirements management and release management.
Strong ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with program management and cross-functional teams.
