VetsEZ is seeking a Senior Data Integration Engineer to be part of our mission-driven team supporting a high-impact project with the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role will be integral to the Data Migration & Syndication (DMS) efforts within the Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO). Responsibilities:

  • Implement data integration and exchange using formats like FHIR, HL7, and CSV, incorporating data into databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Azure.
  • Troubleshoot, monitor, and secure Oracle Active Data Guard and other mirroring technologies.
  • Create and evaluate data mappings for migrations between Oracle Health, CDW, VistA, Millennium, and Cloud Databases.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources using healthcare standards (e.g., DICOM, SNOMED CT, LOINC, ICD9/10, USCDI).
  • Write SQL queries, develop Conceptual Data Models, and enhance database architectures to support VA enterprise standards.
  • Develop high availability and Disaster Recovery Architectures, adhering to security best practices.
  • Automate processes using tools like Microsoft Visual Studio, SSIS, and Powershell; interpret Oracle Health’s Data model for ingestion and API construction.
  • Create user and technical documentation, and report data integration activities in the Weekly Progress Report.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field, plus 15+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in data integration with formats like FHIR, HL7, and SQL databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, Azure).
  • Strong foundation in computer science principles: object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.
  • Experience with full-stack development, Agile frameworks, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and Automated Testing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Effective communicator with strong skills in database architecture, administration, and security.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or technical discipline.
  • Experience in the VA or other federal organizations desired.
  • Experience with Data Migration and Data Syndication within the VA desired.
  • Ability to obtain a Government clearance.
