VetsEZ is seeking an Expert Delphi Developer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Data Management (HDM) project. This remote role involves designing, developing, and modernizing applications while ensuring system performance and scalability. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Delphi development and a strong understanding of legacy system migration, database integration, and federal IT environments.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain software applications using Delphi.
  • Modernize legacy systems by analyzing, refactoring, and enhancing existing applications.
  • Design and implement migration strategies for transitioning systems to modern platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior developers.
  • Integrate Delphi applications with databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and RESTful APIs.
  • Diagnose and resolve application issues, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
  • Maintain system security, performance, and compliance with development standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 15+ years of Delphi development experience, including federal IT projects.
  • Expertise in TaskMan, MenuMan, Alerts, KIDS, FileMan, and MailMan.
  • Proficiency with RPC Broker (client and server) and familiarity with MUMPS.
  • Experience integrating applications with SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs, SOAP, Agile frameworks, and regression testing.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience following the VISS VistA patch development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with IRIS for Health (e.g., 2022+) is a plus.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development.
  • Certifications in InterSystems IRIS, HL7, or AWS Cloud Practitioner.
  • Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs or healthcare organizations.
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
